Free Speech

I love this American flag chicken egg art. It got me thinking about how great America is.

I will be attending this Wednesday's city council meeting on January 11th at 5:15 P.M. to exercise my free speech rights by making a public comment statement in support of backyard hens to our newly elected council members. Over the next several months we will find out if there is support to once again amend the city ordinance and make hen ownership legal for R-1 zone residents. If we do, hopefully this council will stand behind their decision.

I'm not going to post my speech at this time. You can watch it on TV at Kern County Television (formerly KGOV-TV). Or, you can join me at 1600 Truxtun Ave Ste 5TH, Bakersfield, CA 93301 on Wednesday at 5;15 P.M. (arrive a little early for parking and to fill out your comment card).

Thank you for supporting backyard hens.
