Council Meeting Update ...

Yesterday, July 15 at the 5:15 City Council meeting, five individuals spoke in support of backyard hens. I know many of you have written emails as well. Thank you for showing your support. The speakers did a great job and several key points were shared. The Vice Mayor, Councilman Parlier, shared that at the August 12th Council meeting backyard hens will be on the agenda for the "workshop" presentation. This is great news. Another step closer.

Here are some things you can do or encourage friends, neighbors and strangers to do:

1. Sign our online petition. I have a tab titled "petition" on the website that will link you to it.

2. Write your Council Member an email in support of backyard hens. The website has links to Council Members' names and emails.

3. Take the survey on the website. There is a tab labeled "survey" that will link you to it.

4. Continue to share our message of support with friends, family and acquaintances. Post the petition, website and Facebook pages on social media. print fliers from the website to share as well.

We have had several wins this week with our efforts. Keep it up Bakersfield. This next month is an important one as we get ready for the next Council meeting.
