I was able to track down someone from Cal State that is involved with the community garden. It is being built on the south-east side of their property. She was super friendly, and we both shared about our interests (mine being backyard hens and hers being community gardens). The conversation was enjoyable because the two topics overlap and compliment each other well: food security, composting, organic bug and weed control, opportunities for education, etc, The big question I wanted to ask, "Do you have future plans to have chickens on the grounds of your community garden?" She said, "Yes." I'm going to be sending her the website and Facebook links for her to view. She is going to talk with the people with "the authority and power" to see if CSUB would like to be an official supporter of the Backyard Hen Initiative.

I'm currently building out a new tab for the web page. It is going to be a sponsor/supporter page that recognizes the businesses and organizations that want to be associated with our efforts to change the ordinance. Businesses and organizations will be recognized as one of the following: as a supporter of agreement with our position, as well as a financial supporter. Hopefully, people will be willing to donate to our backyard hen movement, so we can move forward with our positive, community messaging plans and actions: yard signs, postcards, videos, etc. This could get exciting!
