I Need You To Do Something ...

Please write your City Council Member an email stating that you are in support of backyard hens. You need to take action to help make this happen. Try to encourage at least one additional friend, neighbor, or family member to write City Council as well. Please, do not give the City Council the opportunity to say that there isn't enough interest in this topic to make any changes to the ordinance.

Writing the email is easy and should only take a few minutes. Visit my web page, thebubh.wixsite.com/bubh and locate the tabs at the top. Look for "City Council", where you will find the emails and names of our City Council Members, and "Sample Emails", where you will find tips, suggestions and sample emails to assist you if needed.

In the subject line you should write two things: (1) support for backyard hens (2) the name of your Council Member or "All Council Members".

Make sure you write your email and try to convince at least one additional person to write City Council. Our goal is to be a dozen to one (12:1) with support for hens with regards to communication with City Council. Last time, in 2012, there were more emails opposing backyard hens then there were support emails. DO NOT LET THAT HAPPEN THIS TIME!

Today I had three conversations with friends that I ride bikes with. All three said they will write and two have already confirmed with me that they have. When we take action we will get hens!
