Please Commit To Attending The Wednesday, September 23rd Council Meeting

We are close to seeing this happen. A lot of hard work, commitment, communication, and persistence has gotten us to this point.

We need all able and willing supporters to show up for this upcoming City Council meeting. This is so important. Many of you have been asking how you can help. This is how.

When you show up (either at 3;30 or 5;15 - the time will be announced this Friday, and I will post it) you fill out a "public speaking" card. You only have to put your name and topic on the card. Write something like "Support Hens". Then, when it is your turn to speak all you have to say is, "I support backyard hens. Thank you." Feel free to say more, but at this point, we do not need to convince City Council of the benefits of backyard hens. We have already done that. We only need to show up in support of backyard hens so our presence in undeniable and can not be ignored. This is how we keep the majority Council Members' votes that we already have.

The location of the meeting is 1501 Truxtun Ave. This is on the south-east side of the intersection of Truxtun Ave and Eye Street. If seating in the main building is limited, still fill out a card and submit it. You will wait outside in the lobby, but will be called in when it is your turn to speak.

I cannot stress enough how important this is. Showing up to make a public comment in support of backyard hens is how we get the Council to follow through with the progress we have made.

If you decide to say more than just, "I support hens" I would recommend that you stay positive and do not let the minority and very few people in opposition get you frustrated. Your points and support, presented in a respectful manner, is what our City Council needs to see and hear at this point.
