Newly elected Councilwoman Patty Gray represents Ward 6. She replaced Jacquie Sullivan. Here is some contact information to reach Patty Gray:

DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen

C0-Owner/Chief Stewarding Officer

Mobile Phone: 661-978-4183

First, be brave and reach out to her. Establish a relationship. She chose to run for office and represent you. Make sure she hears from you and that you are wanting legal protection for backyard hen ownership.

Second, what you are asking for is reasonable and fair while it enhances quality of life experiences for families. The backyard hen community has demonstrated that it is responsible. We have demonstrated that urban hens is being done successfully in many cities. We have demonstrated that hens are not a nuisance and that they are safe.

Third, let her know that you want the City to continue to fight for legalization of backyard hens. Try to find out what her position is. Also, let her know that we are willing to work with the City to collaborate, compromise, and find a solution to hen ownership. We are not willing to just let the legalization of backyard hens get derailed because of an obstructionist lawsuit that is clearly intended to prevent what the Council legally passed. If backyard hens are right, and they are, then the Council should not be strong-armed by a lawsuit. They should stand up for the residents! They are in a position of leadership and that is their responsibility.

Finally, encourage others to call Councilwoman Patty Gray and have the conversation as well. You can make this happen. It will not happen unless you are brave and take action. Backyard hens are worth it. Be part of something great that you can proudly tell your family about for generations.

What we are asking for is reasonable and fair while it enhances the quality of life experiences for families. Now call her. 661-978-4183
